Greek moussaka

Today I teach you how to prepare a Greek moussaka, a recipe that is traditionally prepared with minced lamb meat, but if you can't find it or you don't like it, you can substitute it without any problem for any other type of minced meat.

With the ingredients that I indicate you can prepare mousaka for four people.

To prepare this Greek moussaka you will need:

 

  • 1 kg. (35,27 oz.) of eggplant

  • 300 gr. (10,58 oz.) of minced lamb meat

  • 200 gr. (7,05 oz.) of onion

  • 200 gr. (7,05 oz.) of red pepper

  • 4 eggs

  • 3 garlic cloves

  • ½ teaspoon of paprika

To prepare this Greek moussaka you must follow this steps:

 

-Cut half of the eggplant into slices.

 

-Brown the eggplant slices and reserve.

 

-Cut the rest of the eggplant into cubes.

 

-Peel the onions and garlic cloves.

 

-Cut the onions, garlic cloves and red pepper into small cubes.

 

-Cook slowly the onions, garlic cloves, red pepper and diced eggplant.

 

-Add the minced lamb meat and brown.

 

-Add the paprika and the fried tomato.

 

-Cool the filling.

 

-Beat the eggs.

 

-Mix the eggs with the filling.

 

-Line a mold with the eggplant slices.

 

-Pour the filling into the mold.

 

-Bake at 180ºC (356ºF) in a double boiler for 10-15 minutes.

 

-Unmold after 10 minutes.
