Today I am going to teach you how to prepare steamed mussels, a simple and quick recipe with which you can improvise a simply delicious appetizer with only a couple of ingredients.

Before preparing this recipe, check the mussels, and if you see any open or with a broken shell, throw it away because it's not safe to eat.

Once you have cooked them, if you find mussels that are still closed, you will have to throw them for the same reason.

To prepare these steamed mussels you'll need:

  • 1 kilogram (35,27 oz.) of mussels
  • ½ lemon
To prepare these steamed mussels you must follow the next steps:

-Clean the mussels.

-Cut the lemon into four pieces.

-Heat a cooking pot with a splash of oil.

-When it's hot, add the lemon and mussels.

-Cover and cook about 3-4 minutes until mussels open.

-Place the mussels on a plate and throw those that remain closed.
